One person thinks of a word and gives the first letter. Everyone else tries to guess it by describing other words that start the same way — and if two people land on the same word, the letter is revealed. The best purely verbal game there is.

This happens, and it usually means the problem is not the game list. There is a specific, extremely common state where you are overstimulated and understimulated at the same time — you have had four hours of input and none of it landed, so nothing new can land either. Handing that brain another screen does not fix it.

Three things that reliably work when the list itself feels flat:

Pick something physical. Jenga, Spoons, paper football, a walk. Anything where your hands move and a screen doesn’t.
Lower the bar to almost nothing. One round. Sixty seconds of Monkeytype. You are not committing to an evening, you are just breaking the loop.
Get one other person involved. Boredom alone is much stickier than boredom shared. A single text starting a word chain will do more than an hour of searching.
